For our daughter's second birthday party, we created a "woodland" theme with forest animals and camping style food. When I first started planning I was really stumped for an idea. We're not really into character themed parties and her birthday is December 10th, close to Christmas and definitely winter. I was excited to find this theme in a variety of places on the internet and went from there.

garland I made with squirrel, hedgehog, and bunny die cuts I purchased off etsy here

frosting and then toasting our s'more cupcakes, the cupcake recipe can be found here and the icing here.

s'more cupcakes and "dirt" dessert

cake stands I created with a little foam core, cardboard tubes, and scrapbook paper

The party geek in me decided to make little food labels following our theme, some were cheesier than others...

coffee and cocoa bar with special little add ins like "Where's my compass? Kahlua" and "Oh deer! Irish Cream"

baked beans and roast beef sliders

dining room table with plaid tablecloth and pine cones

mini baked mac n' cheeses
food was placed on top of natural wood platters cut from a fallen tree

campfire dogs and sausages

We had so much fun bringing the outdoors in on this very cold day!
